HPDE stands for High Performance Driver Education. It's code for: bring a car onto a track to learn Performance Driving. This is not racing. It is track driving. You will have an instructor work with you on the track, which will make you more confident and a better driver overall. And, you will have a smile you can't remove!!!

Autocross takes place on the FCP Euro Proving Grounds; a .52 mile permanent, paved road course that's fun and easy to drive using the Just Hands Racing car. These programs allow you to learn car control in a high-performance setting without the higher risks.

The Car
Our main track car is a 981 Porsche Cayman. This car, donated by Hoffman Auto Group!, was "track prepped" by the legendary Porsche wizards at Hairy Dog Grrrage; meaning it has a lot of modifications not found in regular street cars. Almost all modifications were made for safety!! The chances of you needing any of it is minimal, but safety first is paramount in any sport.
Most important is the hand control system. Since we want people to feel comfortable, we outfitted the car with left and right side hand controls. The right controls are Veigel Classic II, and MPD Push Right Angle for left handers. We have both Veigel Soft Knob Grip and the Tri-Pin steering aides, pending on your dexterity.
Thanks to our good friends at OG Racing, we have 6-point harnesses with Sparco Racing seats, Helmets, HANS and so much more! (and a Roll bar :-) ).
IS IT SAFE?
It's very safe. There is no random passing. You can only pass if someone gives you a "point by" (an arm signal to you to say they see you and are allowing you to pass). Similarly, no one can pass you without you giving a point-by. That makes things very safe!!
Thanks to OG Racing and Nicholas Tobin Insurance we have SNELL 2020 Helmets with integrated radios so you can talk with your instructor. We also provide HANS devices for Head and Neck protection.

This is JHs main track. LRP is in the Northwest corner of CT, just under a 2 hour drive from NYC and is considered one of the countries most strategic tracks. It's also gorgeous!

Palmer is a relatively new track in south central Mass, but it feels like driving through the Swiss Alps! (the views are great, but please keep your eyes on the track!)
